The most famous and recommended route is the Kushalnagar route, i.e. NH275. It is 250 km from Bangalore. Though this route has fewer scenic sites, it is the optimum route. It takes approximately 6 hours to reach Madikeri through this route. The route starts from Bangalore – Mysore – Hunsur – Khushalnagar – Madikeri.
The second route is on the same highway, i.e. NH275, but it is through Channarayapatna. This route is an alternative to the above route if you wish to enjoy the greenery and the beautiful sites. This route is 265 km and is also at a distance of approximately 6 hours. The route is Bangalore – Nelamangala – Channarayapatna – Kushalnagar – Madikeri.
The last route is through NH206, i.e. through Chikmagalur. This route takes you through dense forests and hilly regions. The distance for this route is 270 km, which also takes approximately 6 hours. The route is Bangalore – Chikmagalur – Hebri – Virajpet – Madikeri.

Raja’s Seat: This popular attraction offers a breathtaking view of the surrounding valleys and hills. It was a favourite spot of the Kodagu kings, who used to enjoy the stunning sunsets from here.
